Terms and Conditions

Last updated: 4 September 2026

LaventTech is operated by L'AVENT ROASTER PTE. LTD., Singapore.

These terms and conditions govern use of the LaventTech website and the LaventTech platform. By opening an account, subscribing to a plan, or using the platform, a merchant and its staff agree to these terms.

1. The service

LaventTech provides software and point-of-sale tools for cafés and food-and-beverage businesses, which may include ordering, kitchen and barista workflow, customer management, loyalty, stored credit and vouchers, reservations, inventory, staff management, reporting, customer-facing displays and online ordering.

Which features are available to a merchant depends on the plan the merchant has subscribed to. Features described as in development, planned or coming soon are not part of the service until we say they are available.

2. Accounts and access

A merchant is responsible for the accounts it creates, for the roles and permissions it assigns, and for everything done under those accounts.

Credentials — passwords, staff PINs, device sign-ins and API keys — must be kept confidential and must not be shared outside the merchant's business. Tell us promptly if you believe an account has been compromised.

We may require a merchant to remove access for a person who breaches these terms.

3. Subscriptions and fees

Subscription plans and the features included in each plan are described on our Pricing page. Fees are billed in advance for the subscription period stated in the merchant's order, monthly or annually.

Hardware, payment processing, on-site installation, additional training, data migration, custom integrations, custom development, additional outlets and additional terminals are not included in the subscription fee and are quoted separately.

Prices exclude any applicable taxes, which are added where required by law. We may change subscription prices with reasonable prior notice; a change takes effect from the merchant's next renewal.

Refunds and cancellations are governed by our Return and Refund Policy.

4. Merchant responsibilities

Each merchant is the seller of record for its own sales. The merchant is responsible for its business, products, prices, menu accuracy, promotions, order fulfilment, customer service, staff, food safety, licensing, taxes and legal compliance.

The merchant is responsible for its own refund, cancellation and returns policy towards its customers, and for honouring it.

The merchant is responsible for handling its customers' personal data lawfully, for obtaining any consents it needs, and for its own obligations under the PDPA.

The merchant is responsible for the accuracy of the data it enters, and for reviewing its own reports, takings and reconciliations.

5. Acceptable use

Use of the platform is subject to our Acceptable Use Policy. In summary: use the platform lawfully, do not attempt to reach another merchant's data, do not interfere with the platform's security or operation, and do not resell or re-license the platform without our written agreement.

6. Hardware and third-party dependencies

The platform runs on hardware, networks and services that we do not control: the merchant's devices, printers, cash drawers, payment terminals, local network and internet connection, and third-party services such as email delivery, messaging channels and payment providers.

Where LaventTech supplies or recommends hardware, it is supplied under a separate quotation and is covered by the manufacturer's or supplier's warranty. LaventTech is not the manufacturer.

We are not responsible for a failure, outage, change or discontinuation of a third-party service or of the merchant's own equipment or connectivity, or for the consequences of one. Where a third-party service materially changes, we will make reasonable efforts to adapt the platform or to tell merchants what has changed.

7. Payment providers

LaventTech is a software and point-of-sale platform. LaventTech is not a bank, a payment institution or a card acquirer, and does not hold or settle merchant funds.

Where payments are taken through a payment provider or a physical payment terminal, the merchant applies for and holds its own account with that provider, is verified by that provider, and is paid into its own bank account. The provider's own terms, fees and rules apply to that relationship in addition to these terms.

Refunds, chargebacks and payment disputes arising from a merchant's own sales are processed against that merchant's payment account and remain the merchant's responsibility as seller of record.

8. Service availability and support

We aim to provide a reliable service, but we do not guarantee that the platform will be uninterrupted or error-free. Availability can be affected by maintenance, third-party services and factors outside our control.

We may carry out planned maintenance, and will give reasonable notice for work that we expect to interrupt the service. Urgent security or stability work may be carried out without notice.

Support is provided during business hours by email and the agreed support channel. We do not currently offer a 24/7 support service or a contractual uptime guarantee.

9. Intellectual property

LaventTech and its licensors own the platform, its software, design, documentation and brand. Subscribing gives the merchant a non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the platform for its own business during the subscription, and nothing more.

The merchant keeps ownership of its own content and data — its menu, products, images, customer records and transaction records. The merchant grants us the limited right to host and process that content solely to provide the service.

Feedback and suggestions a merchant gives us may be used to improve the platform without obligation or payment.

10. Confidentiality

Each party will keep the other's non-public business information confidential and use it only for the purposes of the service, except where disclosure is required by law.

11. Limitation of liability

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

Subject to that, LaventTech is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of profit, revenue, goodwill, anticipated savings, or for loss or corruption of data to the extent the merchant could reasonably have avoided it by keeping its own records and exports.

Subject to that, our total aggregate liability arising out of or in connection with the service in any twelve-month period is limited to the subscription fees paid by the merchant for the service in that period.

The platform is a tool that supports the merchant's business. It does not replace the merchant's own checks on its takings, stock, tax and legal obligations.

12. Indemnity

The merchant will indemnify LaventTech against claims brought by the merchant's own customers, staff or authorities arising from the merchant's products, sales, conduct, content, or handling of its customers' personal data, except to the extent the claim is caused by our breach of these terms.

13. Suspension and termination

A merchant may cancel its subscription in accordance with our Return and Refund Policy. Access continues to the end of the period already paid for.

We may suspend access where there is a serious or repeated breach of these terms or the Acceptable Use Policy, a security or legal risk, or fees remain unpaid after written reminder. Where practical we will tell the merchant first and give a chance to put it right.

Either party may terminate for a material breach that is not remedied within thirty days of written notice.

On termination the merchant may export its data during the export window stated in its order. After that window, data is deleted or anonymised in line with our Privacy Policy.

14. Changes to the service and to these terms

We develop the platform continuously. We may add, change or withdraw features. Where a change materially reduces a feature a merchant relies on, we will give reasonable notice.

We may update these terms. The current version is always published on this page with the date it was last updated. Where a change is material, we will notify merchants directly, and continued use after the change takes effect means the merchant accepts the updated terms.

15. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Singapore, and the courts of Singapore have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of or in connection with them.

The parties will attempt in good faith to resolve a dispute by discussion before starting proceedings.
