Data Protection & PDPA
LaventTech handles personal data in line with the principles of Singapore's Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA). This page explains the roles and responsibilities.
Roles
For a café's customer data, the café is the organisation responsible for that data; LaventTech acts as a data intermediary/processor, handling it on the café's instructions to provide the service.
For website enquiry data, LaventTech is responsible as the organisation you contacted.
PDPA principles we follow
Consent & purpose limitation: personal data is used for the purposes it was provided for.
Accuracy & protection: we take reasonable steps to keep data accurate and to protect it.
Access & correction: individuals may request access to or correction of their data.
Retention limitation: we retain data only as long as needed.
Tenant isolation
Merchant data is separated by architecture so one merchant cannot access another's data.
Merchant responsibilities
Merchants remain responsible for obtaining consents from their own customers and for their own PDPA obligations.
